Common Childhood Illnesses

Children are more prone to infections because their immune systems are still developing. Most childhood illnesses are mild, but it is important for parents to recognize symptoms early.

Common Cold

The common cold is one of the most frequent illnesses in children. Symptoms include runny nose, mild fever, cough, and sneezing. Rest and fluids usually help children recover quickly.

Ear Infections

Ear infections are common in young children. Symptoms may include ear pain, difficulty sleeping, and irritability. A pediatrician may recommend medication if needed.

Stomach Infections

Children sometimes experience stomach infections that cause vomiting, diarrhea, and stomach pain. Keeping the child hydrated is very important.

When to Visit a Pediatrician

Parents should consult a doctor if symptoms persist for several days, if the child has high fever, difficulty breathing, or unusual fatigue.
